Our story

Pallyards Pedigrees is a family-run business based in Carlisle, specialising in the breeding of some of the highest-quality Labrador puppies in Cumbria.

Having owned and cared for Labradors across multiple generations of our family, we have developed a deep understanding of the breed’s loyal, gentle and loving nature. We take great pride in promoting Labradors for everything they represent — devotion, intelligence, and companionship — and we are confident they will return that love tenfold to their new families.

Our Labradors are companions for life. Whether joining you as a cherished family pet, a therapy dog, or in a working role, you can be assured that our puppies are bred, raised, and prepared with care, responsibility and lifelong support in mind.

Kates Story

I grew up on this beautiful farm in the country, surrounded by animals, which naturally fostered a lifelong appreciation for animal care and responsible breeding. From an early age, I knew I wanted to breed Labrador Retrievers of excellent quality, with sound temperaments and strong lineage.

In 2004, I was gifted my first Labrador, Poppy. It quickly became clear that she was the foundation of the breeding line I wished to develop. Poppy lived to just one day short of her 15th birthday. During her life, she had one carefully planned litter and remained a constant presence as my own family grew around her.

For many years, I bred no more than one litter per year, and I continue to consider myself a hobby breeder, focused on quality rather than quantity. With over 20 years of experience, I am now breeding the fifth generation of my original line.

Between 2006 and 2025, Pallyards Pedigrees has produced just 13 litters, reflecting our commitment to responsible, ethical breeding and the long-term health of our dogs.

Now passed on my love of breeding to my eldest daughter Katelynn who equally shares the passion.

Our history

With over 20 years of breeding experience, we take great pride in treating every dog as a valued member of our family. Generations of Labrador knowledge, care, and genuine love guide everything we do, allowing us to breed these remarkable dogs with exceptional dedication and affection.

The Labrador puppies we raise are nurtured in a loving home environment and are given the very best start in life. Each puppy is raised with constant care, socialisation and developmental supervision. Helping them grow into confident, well-rounded companions.
